Google Part 1 Week 2

What???

Google is an amazing tool, which until today I hadn't known about. While sitting in class today I was pleasantly surprised by how useful this program is. I look forward to working on our team project, and learning how to become more efficient with the program. It seems to be fairly user friendly, and I have been able to work on my "welcome letter" without too much stress. I am enjoying google, and blogger--it is going to be very useful in teaching.

So What?

I feel that google is a program which would improve any career. It's unlimited information and programs are more than most people could even dream of. I feel that by learning to work efficiently on google and by using its organizational tools, it would help everyone be more organized, less stressed and be able to perform at a higher standard.

As a teacher, google will enable me to use my time wisely. I can use it in commuicating, grading, collecting information, planning, and scheduling meetings with my students and their parents .

It will also allow me to work on group projects with my co-workers, and team members more effectively. By being able to work on various projects independently, but collaborating as a group, we will be able to eliminate all of the extra meetings and cut down on wasted time. I will also be able to share information with other teachers more easliy.

As a parent I was able to set up my parent teacher conferences on the web this year, and it was great. Scheduling on the web made it very simple for the parents to confirm and receive a date and time that was convenient for their schedule.

Now What??

I am very excited to learn to work with google and become more experienced on how all of these programs work. I feel this will have a positive effect on my classroom and on my students. By learning these technologies, and being able to show my students the benefits of google and various other programs, they will be able to gain the same appreiciation for technology as I have.

This will help my students as they go on to high school and college, to be able to be open to new technologies as they are presented, and be able to use them and benefit from them.

I feel that all of these programs and the new technologies are just amazing. I remember helping my Dad get ready for school, by collating memograph copies for his students. We have come a long way since that time, and I look forward to seeing all of the new and exciting things technology has in store for us.
