The Perfect Classroom
by Heather Allan
In thinking about the "perfect classroom", I have many ideas of what I would like to bring into my classroom.
I would want there to be a peace present in my classroom, where my students feel happy, comfortable and secure. I would want them to be able to feel accepted and know without a doubt that I am on their team, that I care about them, and that I want them to succeed.
I want to be prepared personally to give each student an outstanding experience in my classroom, by continuing my education and being the best I can be--so in turn I can give them the best education possible.
I would hope to be able to teach in a school which has a positive school culture. A school where I am confidant and supported by my fellow team teachers. I also feel it is so important to have the support of a strong principal who is dedicated to his or her job, the students, teachers, and the community.
I want to be organized and run my classroom efficiently--
I love the arts, and will definitely incorporate lots of color and interesting pictures, students projects, and posters displayed around my room. I feel this helps the room feel more inviting and comfortable to my students, and I want them to feel "at home". I also feel that by displaying their work this gives the students a feeling of accomplishment and helps them build a positive self-esteem.
I will group my students desks together into tables. I want to help my students be able to work together as a group, and learn to get along with others. This is an important skill to learn, even as an adult.
And the last most important element in my classroom would definitely be my students. I look forward to teaching all children. Children with different ideas, personalities, economic backgrounds, skills, learning levels, and home lives. I feel it will be so fulfilling to work with each of these students, and help them to discover their strengths and help them work to overcome their weaknesses. Teaching is an amazing profession in my eyes. I have had wonderful teachers, and I hope to be that same amazing teacher to my students.

This is a great description...I enjoyed reading it. I believe that this description can come to fruition and those children really do need your help...I look forward to watching you make this happen in your life....and I BELIEVE in you!! You can make this happen!!
